D.D.Step "BAREFOOT" shoe sole is made of exceptionally thin rubber, allowing children to feel the ground while running and walking, preserving natural foot movements, and ensuring proper protection for the foot. The wide base of the shoes does not compress the foot, allowing the child's foot bones and tendons to grow and develop unhindered. This is especially important for the toes, as they are responsible for balance and proper motor skills. The minimalist design of the footwear ensures foot protection and is extremely flexible, allowing the child's foot tendons and muscles to stretch and contract freely. 

As long as there are no pain or problems with muscle or bone systems, children's feet can and should develop unhindered. Wearing barefoot shoes allows this process to occur, mimicking the effect of bare feet: providing protection but not altering the natural movement of the foot. For this, shoes must be thin, flexible, foot-shaped, and completely flat, like barefoot model shoes.
