HUPPA General Garment Care Instructions
HUPPA fabrics are covered with a polyurethane layer on the inside, which prevents water from getting inside the product, but at the same time allows the moisture inside the product to evaporate. The fabrics of HUPPA products are waterproof and breathable, as well as windproof.
LAUNDRY
- Before washing, carefully familiarize yourself with the recommendations on how to care for a specific product and the contractual markings.
- As you know, all products can be washed in a washing machine (see point 1).
- The recommended washing temperature for technical products is +30 °C (see point 1).
- Wash with products of the same color.
- If there are fur details (for example, a collar), remove them before washing. Wash the belt separately in a laundry bag.
- Before washing, turn the product inside out.
- The product will wash much more evenly if you fasten all the zippers and tapes.
- Do not use water softeners and stain removers!
- Do not use fabric softener! Otherwise, the technological properties of the fabric may deteriorate (water repellency, "breathing" of the fabric, heat retention, etc.) and the product will no longer protect you from cold and wind.
- Regardless of the detergent, the product must be rinsed again.
- Do not leave the wet product in the washing machine, hang the clothes to dry immediately after washing.
DRYING
- After washing, spin the products well in a centrifuge.
- If hand washing, carefully squeeze out most of the water before hanging to dry. Do not drill the product!
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CARE FOR DOWN PRODUCTS
HUPPA down products use a breathable 4-layer system, with down interspersed between fluff-proof layers. The soft down fabric is used, the water impermeability and air permeability indicators are 5000/5000. Despite the high price, feathers (down) are used as a filler because it is a light, well-packaged material that returns to its original shape after unpacking. Due to its fluffiness, the material perfectly retains warm air, and the thinning layer of fat gives down and feathers, which are used as a filler, water-repellent properties. In order to preserve all these properties, it is necessary to follow the product care instructions!
LAUNDRY
- Before washing, carefully familiarize yourself with the recommendations on how to care for a specific product and the contractual markings.
- As you know, all products made of down and feathers can be washed in a washing machine (see point 1).
- The recommended washing temperature for down products is +30 °C (see point 1).
- To restore the product to its original shape, put 2-3 tennis balls in the machine before washing and spinning.
- Wash down products separately, if there are fur details (for example, a collar), remove them before washing. Wash the belt in a laundry bag.
- The product will wash much more evenly if you fasten all the zippers and tapes.
- If you can, use only down products (such as Nikwax Downwash, Hey Sport Down Wash, or down products from other manufacturers) that restore the fluffiness and water repellency of down products.
- When washing with conventional detergents, the layer of fat is removed from the feathers and at the same time the insulation properties of the feathers deteriorate. As the feathers lose their fat layer, lumps form in the lower part of the feather pouches, causing the product to lose its attractive appearance and heat-retaining properties.
- However, if you still have to use regular detergent, check that it does not contain any bleaching properties and use 1/3 of the regular detergent in your wash.
- If you wash by hand, rinse the product 3-4 times in a row (use clean water each time). Do not use fabric softener when rinsing! When using it, the protective properties of the product deteriorate significantly or disappear completely.
- Do not leave the wet product in the washing machine, enjoy the clothes immediately after washing. It is necessary to dry the products as soon as possible to avoid the unpleasant smell of feathers.
DRYING
- After washing, spin the products as best as possible in a centrifuge (before spinning, put 2-3 tennis stones in the machine). If hand washing, be sure to squeeze out most of the water before hanging the jacket to dry. Do not drill!
- It is best to dry the product on a flat surface, placing it wet on a horizontal surface. In this case, the feathers will not fall to the bottom of the down bag. While drying, shake the product occasionally to distribute the fluff filling evenly!
